| Hot Rods & Pin-Ups, Atomic Sunset Featuring Djordje Stijepovic
Atomic Sunset is a rockabilly trio formed in 2003 in Belgrade, Serbia. Music roots vary from rawness of 50's Sun stuff to modern day rockers. The band combines rockabilly, surf, punk, swing and everything that takes to create unique and energetic modern rock'n'roll sound. They have been touring few times across Europe. Atomic Sunset is a brainchild of one of the world's best upright slap bassists Djordje Stijepovic (Deke Dickerson, Lemmy Kilmister, Slim Jim Phantom, Scotty Moore band, Wanda Jackson). Accomplished guitarist Drazen Skaric (who was a co-leader of Havana Whisper with Djordje) is also a founding member of the band. The great recent addition is the drummer Atomic Alek (Soulfly, Bloodbath), well known for his long membership in one of the most famous Serbian rock bands Eyesburn. Their debut album "Hot Rods & Pin-Ups" has been released in Serbia for Automatic/Mascom Records (BMG) in November 2007, and in the US for Ceklin Music in December 2007.
Instrumentation: Drazen Skaric (vocals, guitar): Highly influenced by old and new guitar masters like Scotty Moore, Chet Atkins, Django Reinhardt, Brian Setzer, Tommy Emmanuel and others, Drazen developed his own rockin style. This rock'n'roll wizard has been involved in every great rockabilly project in Belgrade since the early 90's; Night Riders, Havana Whisper, Neon Kings, Mr Blue, to name a few. "Atomic" Alek Petrovic (drums): The latest addition to the band, Alek is very well known as long time member of one of the most succesful Serbian bands Eyesburn. He has been playing with other successful bands, most notably Soulfly and Bloodbath.
